TRANSMITTER and CONTROLLER SETUP GUIDE FOR REAL DRONE SIMULATOR PRE-ALPHA

Please follow this guide step by step to make your transmitter work with the simulator:

First plug your transmitter into the computer and turn it on. Create a new Model profile for the simulator to avoid messing up your setups for real drones and it also needs to begin with 0 trimms, subtrimms and also 100% at end points. 
Double click on RDS_Pre-Alpha.exe to make it load the Launcher window (window's title is Real Drone Simulator Configuration).
Change the Graphics Quality from Fastest to any higher please as at Fastest quality the trees are not visible and Unity sets this value by default to minimum.

From this window click on the Input tab in the middle to get this screen:

At this screen you should set your transmitter's Axes. You will need to double click on Primary column entry and move the sticks so it can recognise the inputs and assign them.
(If you double click on an entry and a popup window appears and vanishes immediately then try to switch your 3-way switches to middle position)
So after double clicking it shall display a pop-up window with a message "Press a button or key for..." and it must wait until you press the sticks to proper directions. If it accepts the changes then this little window will vanish and will change the value in the primary column for example like Joystick 0 axis 1 and so on. If the window doesn't vanish when you push the sticks then it means your computer haven't recognised the transmitter properly. If you have a switch on your simulator adapter then try to flip it to the other state. If you haven't plug and turn on your transmitter before double clicking and launching RDS...exe then that must be a reason why it doesn't recognise the inputs.
If any of the things I mentioned above doesn't help then you should check if Windows is recognised the input device at Control Panel, Devices & Printers. The device should be there and if you click to see it's properties then try to move each sticks to see if you get moving values.

Set the following entries, and only the first from top with the name like these:

FOR MODE1:
Yaw (+): Left stick to Right
Yaw (-): Left stick to Left
Throttle (+): Right stick to Up
Throttle (-): Right stick to Down
Pitch: Left stick to Up
Roll (+): Right stick to Right
Roll (-): Right stick to Left

FOR MODE2:
Yaw (+): Left stick to Right
Yaw (-): Left stick to Left
Throttle (+): Left stick to Up
Throttle (-): Left stick to Down
Pitch: Right stick to Up
Roll (+): Right stick to Right
Roll (-): Right stick to Left

After these are properly set (you'll need to set these properly only once) you can go to press the Play! button now. At the simulator main screen choose Play Game, then Single Player. From the Workshop choose the map on left side "Fly" and choose Virtual Reality and choose the Island level (only this map is available in the PreAlpha). If you experience continououly moving selection in the menus then try to trim the YAW axis on your transmitter.
After the game started do not press any stick inputs but press the ESC key on keyboard to open the in-game Pause menu.
From that choose Control Settings.

In the Control Settings choose RC & Simulator Controller then press the Save as Default button. It will go back to the main pause menu but choose Control Settings again. From here choose Input Calibration this time.

5-InputCalibration

From the Input Calibration menu you will need to set each axis minimum, medium and maximum values. Minimum values are always the left and bottom positions of the sticks while the maximum is the top and right.
After you set these properly then press Back to previous menu, click Save as Default again and Retry level, then Yes to apply the changes.
After this you should be able to fly. If you experience inverted throttle or pitch then go to Control Settings and click on the little checkboxes for Invert Throttle, or Pitch.

To change drones press Space bar, to change camera press C, 1,2,3 for flight modes, Q,E for lower or higher rc rates, R to retry level.
